Growhouse

The high-tech incubator for farm, food and AI from Lower Saxony for Germany

The Growhouse is an incubator for start-ups in the fields of farm, food and artificial intelligence and sees itself as a central interface between founders and relevant stakeholders. The Growhouse is backed by a consortium consisting of the DIL, the Aloys and Brigitte Coppenrath Foundation and Seedhouse Accelerator GmbH.

20 start-ups have been actively funded since 2022, six of which are located at the Food Science and Technology Campus Artland. Participants in the new incubation programme receive up to 200,000 euros over up to two years as financial support. In addition, the founders benefit from exclusive access to networks and mentors from the decision-making level of numerous companies. The declared goal is to bring research-intensive high-tech solutions to the market. In addition to the aforementioned programme funding, the Growhouse also helps with applications for other relevant funding and third-party projects.

The funded start-ups in the immediate vicinity of the DIL include:

  • BIOWEG UG
  • EFS Engineered Food Solutions e. K.
  • hs-tumbler GmbH
  • Kynda Biotech GmbH
  • L&P Holding and Consulting UG
  • Planty Foods UG

The DIL advises the start-ups individually on both a technological and administrative level.

Further services include:

  • Setting up the infrastructure of the incubator for teams from the field of food science in Quakenbrück
  • Integration of the incubated teams into the partner network
  • Public relations work through lectures, presentations and digital presence with a focus on food science
  • Building a community of food start-ups

This program is initiated by the state of Lower Saxony and is implemented in cooperation with the Seedhouse Accelerator GmbH, the German Institute for Food Technology and the Aloys and Brigitte Coppenrath Foundation.
